Fernleigh Farm Produce

Fernleigh Farm Produce grows an array of interesting and unusual seasonal vegetables selected for their flavour, texture, diversity and capacity to delight! We just hate being main-stream!

Good food must be grown sustainably and we have been demonstrating our commitment to sustainable food production since 1990. That was the year we first converted the farm to organic production and became certified with NASAA.

Since then, we've been expanding our range of vegetables and shifting our focus to local food distribution channels to cut down on the distance our food travels from farm to end-user. This has a number of benefits

  1. You get fresher food 'cause it doesn't travel such long distances
  2. You get a wider choice of varieties 'cause many of the older, tastier varieties can't be transported over long distances
  3. You get to share recipes and cooking tips with the people who really know the products
  4. You get to eat food when it is season
  5. It cuts down the carbon footprint by minimising unnecessary, long-distance transportation
  6. It helps strengthen local and regional economies by supporting local businesses.
  7. Growing a wider range of vegetables and distributing them locally allows our farm to operate more sustainably as this systems supports better paddock and crop rotations.
